All we know that leather and snakeskin are not suitable for warm spring and summer months. But on the designers runways for this season 2014 the volume of these materials was very high and the quantity of leather outfits for men also increased.

One of the proponent of leather trend is Trussardi. Certainly it’s not a surprise because this brand has been one of the main followers of leather accessories and goods for a century. Gaia Trussardi, Creative Director of the brand’s mainline, has shown a wonderful collection fabricated mostly from thin leather and decorated with various snakeskin prints and patterns. This collection includes many marvelous fashionable garments like a grey leather vest, silvery-grey leather trousers and white leather neck t-shirt. For the men who like unusual combinations of colours the brand offers blue and tan leather trousers, a terracotta leather suit and various shorts and accessories. The same prints and patterns were applied to the trousers and shirts.
Another brand that uses leather in its summer collection is Versace. On the runways we have seen lots of slim-cut biker jackets which are made if black, bronze or gold patterned leather. The jackets can be paired with slim-fitting leather trousers. Summer is a colourful season. That’s why Versace has offered wonderful baggy leather trousers of mint green and light beige shades.

Richard Nicoll has combined leather pieces with other garments to make the outfit perfect. Leather trousers come out in turquoise and light grey shades. They are paired with knitwear or leather t-shirt with cotton sleeves in grey tones. The snakeskin prints have been shown on sweatshirts, leather shorts, trousers, various t-shirts and bomber jackets with leather sleeves. The colour palette of the leather pieces is from grey and black to red, blue and green.

GQ has noticed that it’s unusual to see leather among summer lightweight fabrics but after removing all the linings and making the leather fabric as thin as possible the outfits look fresh and fashionable. The magazine has picked out some pieces made of thin leather from the designers’ collections.
Details magazine has introduced a big article “Just Add Leather” showing the support to the tendency of using leather things in the summer wardrobe. They have shown the main leather pieces from the runways of different brands and designers.
Now lots of different brands like Zara, River island or Topman offer different pieces with lather pouches, panels and sleeves. There are so many leather accessories. For sure we can say that this trend becomes more and more popular day after day and only you can choose to like it or not. But if you try you will be pleased.
